This was awesome! We typically make meatballs the Italian way and serve with Parmesan/tomato sauce/that sort of thing. But this time around, we opted for an Asian version. It came out really good!
MEATBALLS
•2 cloves minced garlic
•1 inch ginger grated
•1/4 cup chopped scallions
•1 tsp salt
SOY SAUCE REDUCTION
•3/4 cup soy sauce (or coconut amines. Or 1/2 of each!)
•1 tbsp tomato paste
•1 tbsp honey
•1 tsp olive oil
•1 tsp arrowroot starch (or corn starch)
MAKE MEATBALLS
•Turn on oven to 425F. Mix meatball ingredients. Roll into 1oz balls. Place on baking sheet. Cook until cooked through, about 10 minutes for me.
SAUCE
•While meatballs cook, make sauce. Mix ingredients. Add to sauce pan and bring to simmer. Once simmer, bring heat to low and add in arrowroot starch. Leave sauce on low as meatballs cook.
COMBINE
•Add meatballs to sauce. Plate and enjoy!
